I have been using the free version for several years. It works great when I use it. I am not sure about the paid version, I am tempted to buy the bundle with defrag etc. If you are not knowledgeable in getting around pc's and downloading software or inserting license keys, I can see how something like this might be a little hard to understand.

However I think that since I am a tech in IT, that I may not have the issues a couple of others have had. Like I said, I have used the free version, and love it. Use it at work on pc's to clean drives and registry, it works fantastic to speed up pc's that have many profiles on them etc.

I have been using CCleaner for years, first the free version but for the past several years I have bought and use the professional version. The program is fast, operates seamlessly, and gives me added confidence that I am secure while I use my computer.

When I use CCleaner after first using any of the file cleanup processes included in a Microsoft or other program, it becomes very clear that CCleaner is infinitely more thorough. It finds and removes unneeded files, internet tracks, temporary files and cookies that the programs themselves ignore and leave behind to clutter up my computer.

When I want to remove a program I also use CCleaner because I am confident that it does a much more thorough job on this task than what is done by any program's "uninstall" routine. Same goes for the registry cleanup routine.
